Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the content of "InjePro"?

InjePro has seven independent modules presented in 5 CD´s. The first module explores "The Raw Material" while the second one is about "The Main Types of Polymers". The third moldule comprises the topic "The Injection Molding Machine". The fourth module teaches about "Injection Molds" and the fifth one is about the "Processing Technology". The sixth module approaches the "Machine and Mold Seup and Startup", while the seven and last module explains "Troubleshooting".

Is InjePro interactive?

Yes. InjePro is fully interactive. The trainee controls the pace of his/her own learning. The trainee interacts with InjePro by clicking on underlined words and navigation buttons that are displayed on the software's screens. As he/she clicks the buttons, information is gradually delivered.

How is the structure of the program?

InjePro's modules are divided in lessons. For instance, in the "Injection Molds" module, there are lessons on the types of molds, gates, ejection system, cooling circuitry, hot-runner molds and others. At the end of each lesson, the trainee needs to answer a series of tests. As he/she finishes the tests, his/her score is displayed. If the score is lower than 60 %, he is advised to go the next lesson. In case his/her score is below 60 %, he/she is recommended to study the lesson again and, then, to solve the tests one more time.

How long does the trainee take to study the full training course?

The full course takes around 40 hours of training. In other words, the trainee will take an average of 30 hours to study the four modules and to solve all 750 tests. Obviously, that duration can be higher or lower, depending on the trainee's learning pace and his/her previous knowledge on the Injection Molding Technology.

Which resources does InjePro utilize to transmit the contents?

InjePro's contents are transmitted with the help of modern multimedia resources, such as technical animations, drawings, pictures and video-footage, along with written text and full narration of the program. The use of animations should be highlighted, as they can easily demonstrate the operations which take place inside the injection molding machine and molds. In other words, the trainee will see "inside" the machine and molds.

Does the trainee need previous computer skills to use InjePro?

No. This is a great advantage of InjePro. Almost no previous knowledge on computers is required from the trainee, except clicking a mouse. That is true. All interaction between the trainee and InjePro takes place by clicking the mousepointer on the underlined words and navigation buttons which are highlighted on the program's screens.

Is InjePro's level of speech easy to understand?

Yes. We looked for using a very accessible level of speech, so that the course can be understood by anyone with elementary education. Even the most abstract concepts are brought to the trainee's environment, to allow him to be familiar with the information that is delivered. In addition to that, the use of animations, pictures and video-footage permits the visual demonstration of the concepts that are explained, so that a minimum of abstract thinking is required from the trainee. It should also be highlighted that the simultaneous full narration of the course makes the contents' apprehension very easy, even for those who "don't like to read much".

Can InjePro print an evaluation report for each trainee?

Yes. InjePro allows printing a final and detailed evaluation report with information on the trainee's performance, i.e., his/her score on the various tests related to each lesson of the modules. This report can be kept by the company as a certificate that the trainee took a training program on the Plastics Injection Molding Technology.

How can InjePro be utilized by a company to train its employees?

With one or more copies installed in its computers, a company can freely organize a training time-table for its personell. InjePro can be utilized by each trainee autonomously, which allows scheduling flexibility. The company also has the possibility to appoint a coordinator to "facilitate" the training program. The "facilitator" will organize the training sessions' schedule, provide diskette for the trainees, manage the access of people to the computer and help printing / analyzing evaluation reports. With the use of InjePro, the company standardizes all Injection Molding training that is given to its employees.

Do employees need to leave the plant to attend InjePro's training sessions?

No. Training with InjePro can take place at the plant,as the software is installed in the company's computers. In addition to that, the trainee does not need to take all course at once. He/she can spend 30-40 minutes per day in front of the computer to take one or more lessons. At the end of 2-3 months, he/she will have studied all the contents of InjePro.

Who are the target users of InjePro?

The target users comprise all personell from plastics conversion companies: operators and machine setup personell, quality control people, tooling personell, technical service officers and salespeople. In addition to that, the management staff will also acquire technical knowledge about the industrial operations of the his/her company by studying InjePro. InjePro can also be an important educational tool for colleges, vocational schools and engineering faculties.
